Take the time to read the detailed pre-departure documents and view the Safety DVD. The package contains a few important documents to return to Tusker's office and only when Tusker receives and approves these documents can your spot finally be confirmed. Once confirmed, it is time to book your flight. Gather your gear. Some guidebooks say that you should be able to run for half an hour without being out of breath if you're going to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. Don't be disheartened by this kind of talk. Many of us are not cut out for running and this is not an achievable goal for some people. Remember that Kilimanjaro is a walk, not a run, but one which requires a higher than usual aerobic capacity due to the extreme altitude. Just get as fit as you reasonably can in the time available; make it a priority and make the effort - take some hikes, start biking to work, start using that gym membership you keep avoiding.
On your weekends and days off you should head for the hills to try a hike of five to six hours using your hiking boots so that they are well broken in.
